SCRIPTED highlight | Meena

Editor of the 2014 short film directed by Lucy Liu and The Sibs, produced by Kerry Girvin

Meena is an adaptation of the brave and inspirational true story depicted in the opening chapter from Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's best-selling book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, which lays out an agenda for the world's women to confront three on-going global crises: gender-based violence, maternal mortality, and sex trafficking. The film marks the scripted directorial debut of Lucy Liu and was used in a UNICEF campaign.

Press and clips included to the side. More on the film here.

SCRIPTED highlight | The Good Woman of Manhattan

Editor, directed by Wendy Lement

Shelly is thrown into a panic when her ailing husband Richard disappears for three days during a blizzard. Convinced he must be dying in a snow bank, she and her best friend Dan take extreme measures to locate him. In the midst of the crisis, Shelly learns that one of the leads in the play she's directing has quit. As Shelly tries to convince Dan to play the role, her life and the fictional world onstage intertwine in ways she is unable to handle.

POPULAR MUSIC IN FILM

Editor, various projects

Working with composers on an original scores is always an incredibly rewarding experience. And on occasion, the perfect inclusion of a popular music in a film can also be a dream come true. I’ll be putting together a reel soon of some favorites, including:

“Two of Us on the Run” (Lucius), “When I Grow Up” (First Aid Kit covering Fever Ray), and “Stronger Than My Fears” (SHEL) in Charged

A number of Garifuna songs in Someday Is Now about the Belize Barrier Reef, including a personal favorite, “Baba” by Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective

Classical music performed by Clark Wang, the central subject in A Will for the Woods, most importantly a montage driven by his performance of Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2

Scientists dancing in Antarctica dancing to Whitney Houston in The Lake at the Bottom of the World

Jackson Brown providing a new song specifically for The Story of Plastic
